Boy Scouts
Today, growing into adulthood means
learning to make decisions -- decisions about drugs, crime,
gangs, peer pressure, and more.
For more than 90 years the Boy Scouts of America have provided
a strong, values-driven program that strengthens character,
develops good citizenship, and enhances both mental and physical
fitness in our youth; traits that prepare young people to make
the best decisions for today and tomorrow. As a member of the
Boy Scouts of America, your child is joining an organization
of more than four million members. As a member of the Boy Scouting
Program, boys participate in camping, outdoor activities, and
challenging advancement programs which develop self-reliance
and leadership skills for boys in the 6th through 12th grades.
In addition, Venturing offers a challenging, high-adventure
program for young men and women ages 14 through 20 designed
to develop leadership skills and foster good citizenship.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouting at St. Ann Parish is not only for your boy, but
also for the whole family. Scouting programs begin in the first
grade with the Tiger Cubs and lead directly to the adventures
of Cub Scouts. Cub Scouts is for all boys between the 2nd and
5th grade and can be entered/joined at any grade level. Pack
261 of St. Ann Parish offers your boy the opportunity to actively
participate in mind-stimulating activities, educational and
fun firld trips, camping, as well as opportunities to achieve
awards that promote confidence and self-esteem.
Girl Scouts
The Girl Scout program strives to
help girls develop into self-assured strong individuals who
can give back to their
communities. St. Ann Parish has a vibrant program with more
than 20 troops and more than 225 girls, ages 5 through 17,
participating. Living by the Girl Scout Promise to "serve
God and my country, help people at all times," these scouts
with the help of adult leaders and volunteers participate in
all types of activities throughout the year. You don't have
to have a daughter in Girl Scouts to be involved. Leaders,
assistants, sponsors and resource people (people with special
skills, talents or knowledge) are always needed to have St.
Ann's Girl Scout program continue successfully.
