Anchored in Hope, Forward in Faith
"Our Love Stories" was a great success! The Date Night committee transformed the cafeteria to give married couples an evening out including dinner, entertainment, and babysitting provided by St. Ann teachers. If you are interested in joining our committee, please contact the parish office.
The menu included Cesar Salad, Chicken Parmesan, Green Beans, and White Chocolate Bread Pudding for dessert - wine, iced tea, coffee.
We would like to thank the Brother Martin Culinary Club, St. Ann Confirmation Candidates and volunteers from St. Michael Special School for doing an amazing job of serving dinner.
Two couples shared their Love Stories, we watched a funny video about How to Stay Married and Not Kill Anyone, and Fr. Billy helped us renew our wedding vows. Everyone had a beautiful night.
Thank you to everyone who came out. We look forward to putting on this event again next year!
That's Amore!
St. Ann recently hosted a workshop for married couples to participate in In-Home Marriage Preparation. The program was written and presented by Jan & Lloyd Tate. St. Ann had 10 couples in attendance from our parish and a number of other parishes were represented as well.
In-Home Marriage Preparation is designed to include the following topics:
1. Family of Origin
2. Expectations of Marriage
3. Communication and Conflict Resolution
4. Sex and Sexuality
5. Moral Decision-Making and Natural Family Planning
6. The Sacrament of Matrimony
In-home marriage preparation is an extraordinary opportunity for married couples to impact the lives of engaged couples who are seeking marriage in the Catholic Church while at the same time providing greater depth and intimacy for their own marriages. The process of preparing engaged couples for the reception of the Sacrament of Matrimony affords priests, deacons, and married couples the chance to collaborate with one another in a ministry that is both practical and prfound. Set within the context of our universal call to holiness as a people, marriage preparation seeks to provide a positive experience of Church to men adn women called to Matrimony. It further seeks to equip couples for a lifetime of living and loving together, and to enrich and sustain those spouses already faithfully living out their sacrament who serve as presenting couples.
