Anchored in Faith, Your Soul...Our Mission
Members of Sewing Seams of Faith, established in September 2013, meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Parish Ministries Center to share their love through prayer and blanket-making, thereby promoting prayer among their members and the recipients of the fruits of their labor. Working individually at their homes, members sew, crochet and knit blankets, which, when finished, are blessed and donated to anyone who is mentally, physically or spiritually ill or who otherwise may be in need of the comfort that is inspired by the loving hearts and woven into the fabric of each blanket by the skilled hands of the blanket-makers.
Funded solely by monetary donations and gifts of fabric and yarn, since its formation, the ministry has grown to over 35 members who have distributed more than 2000 blankets during Novenas and when requests are received through the parish office and personal giving. Recipients have expressed their gratitude for the warmth, the love and the hope shared by the efforts of Sewing Seams of Faith, as the blanket-makers heed Christ’s call to care for the most vulnerable of His children.
Quilting lessons are offered on Wednesdays between the hours of 1:00 and 3:30 P.M. at the Parish Ministry Center for anyone who would like to learn quilting or need help in learning to sew for this ministry.
